Who we are

The Shropshire Charity Network was co-founded by Victoria Handbury-Madin and Clair Moelwyn-Williams, who share a passion for empowering the charity sector in Shropshire. Victoria, a specialist Charity Consultant with VHM Consultancy, brought her extensive experience from working with Barnardo’s and other vibrant charity communities to the network. Clair, a qualified chartered accountant from TCA is equally passionate and experienced, contributed her deep understanding of the charity sector and a shared vision for local collaboration. Together, they realised the need for a platform to connect and support the diverse charity community in Shropshire, leading to the creation of the Shropshire Charity Network.

Our key focus is:

Kind words from our charity network

  • The third/NFP sector is so vital in our society and yet in Shropshire it has not historically been supported or championed in any meaningful way. However, with their combined knowledge and experience as both practitioners and advisors across a range of specialisms (including strategic development, governance, compliance, finance, fundraising, engagement etc) by creating Shropshire Charity Network, Vicky and Clair have more than plugged that gap. Through regular events and keynote speakers SCN provides a meaningful and worthwhile networking forum providing support, guidance and a wealth of information to the sector, all in the spirit of true collaboration.

  • The Shropshire Charity Network is an excellent group for anyone who works in or with the third sector. It provides an excellent mix of networking and training — covering issues that are both national and pertinent to the local area. We discuss key topics such as fundraising, communications and celebrations, learn from each other by sharing ideas and most importantly create connections that offer great guidance and support outside of the meetings.

Anna Rose Bowler - Digital Content Consultant and Local Charity Trustee.

  • Shropshire Charity Network is a wonderful reflection of the amazing charities that we have in Shropshire! They offer Shropshire charities & not for profit founders, staff and volunteers, the opportunity to network with like-minded people; they also run informative talks, Q&A sessions, online & in-person events, that inform, educate, empower and help ensure we have the best chance to not just survive, but to thrive!

Elizabeth Wilkinson MBE. - The Dyslexic Dyslexia Consultant

  • I’ve only been working within the VCS for about 18 months, so have found the series of webinars presented by the Shropshire Charity Network massively helpful. They cover a wide range of topics, which are always relevant, and have very much helped with my understanding of the sector and the charity world in general. More widely, they have helped me connect with local suppliers and increase my professional network in the region
