Our Story
Passion and Collaboration for Shropshire's Charities
Where it all began
Our journey began in 2019 with a simple yet powerful idea: to create a space where those working in and with the charity sector in Shropshire could come together. We envisioned a community where we could share ideas, discuss challenges, offer support, and explore opportunities for collaboration.
The passion behind our network comes from our shared dedication to helping charities and local causes thrive. The Shropshire charity sector is incredibly diverse, encompassing a vast array of organisations that have a positive impact locally, nationally, and internationally. We wanted to build a platform that brings these organisations together, fostering valuable connections and empowering them to achieve even greater things.
In 2019, Victoria Handbury-Madin (left) and Clair Moelwyn-Williams founded the Shropshire Charity Network. Having worked together previously they both noticed an absence of networking opportunities for the sector locally…… and so the idea for the Shropshire Charity Network was born!
The network delivers virtual and in-person bi-monthly meetings for people working within the charity sector. These meetings offer a fantastic platform for individuals to come together, hear from a range of speakers, and share ideas and challenges.
