Cuan wildlife
Cuan Wildlife Rescue is dedicated to providing compassionate care for sick, injured, and orphaned wild animals and birds. Our mission is to rehabilitate and release these creatures back into the wild, ensuring they have a second chance at life.
About Cuan Wildlife
Cuan Wildlife Rescue is a registered charity focused on the care and rehabilitation of sick, injured, and orphaned wild animals and birds. As Shropshire's only 24/7 wildlife rescue centre, we provide essential support for the county's wildlife.
In addition to our daily care, we strive to:
Educate the public on wildlife care and rehabilitation
Conduct research and offer guidance to other organisations in the field
Founded in 1990, our charity has expanded over the years, featuring purpose-built facilities tailored for various wildlife casualties. Each year, we admit around 6,000 wildlife patients, providing immediate first aid, including pain relief, shock treatment, fluid therapy, wound management, and antibiotics. Many receive further veterinary care through our partnership with Severn Edge Veterinary Group, particularly thanks to the expertise of Chris Woodroff, our wildlife vet since 1995. Their commitment ensures that seriously injured animals have the best chance for recovery.
Once rehabilitated, we return creatures to the wild, often to their original locations, allowing them to reunite with mates and familiar territories.
Our primary mission is to give these animals a second chance at life.
